Preparation for the headshot is key

Putting in effort into your headshot will benefit you in so many ways. These photos represent who you are in the professional world, so you want them to look great. The few steps you can take ahead of time will help you feel confident and ready to have your photo taken.

What to Wear

Solids work best. Choose a color that compliments your eyes and flatters your skin tone. It's great to wear the color you get the most compliments when you're wearing it. Go for high contrast if you're wearing a jacket. A blue jacket with a white shirt

Try Everything On - and then IRON.

A headshot will only show you from the chest and higher. So, try everything on to be sure that it doesn't pull the material, the buttons close, and everything lays on you as it should. Then, Iron or Steam everything.

Skin Preparation

Hydrate! Begin drinking more water a day or two before the session. This will keep your skin looking fresher for the day of the session. Please wash and prep your skin the day of the session. If you wear make-up, be sure to bring those items for touch-ups before the session.

Today is the Day of the Session

Today is the day! Be sure to bring your IRONED outfit ready to wear to the session. If you wear glasses, please clean them. Listen to your favorite song before the session and share it with me. I"d love to hear what you like to hear to get yourself psyched up for something important.

Bring a brush or make-up with you for final touches.
